INTRODUCTION:
The problem of trash in Naples has been involving complex mechanisms with politics, economy, criminality and public health.
The hills of accumulated trash on the streets represent the existential trash of those who live in areas were the culture related to the territory is moving with methods of time and space differently from those imposed by the western model.
SCENARIO:
The Citizens live their own life moving around hills of smelly wastes of every kind; piles of trash become a contemporary monument for the abandonment of the territory.
The future presents itself in a darker way, comparable to the dark color of the trash bags.
The strength of the dark visual negatively influences the spirit of the spectator, who armless in front of this apocalyptical theater is bent to a feeling of defeat.
INTERVENTION:
Our influence in Naples is aimed to alleviate the psychological struggle of these subjects thru cromotheraphy: colors help the body and mind to find their natural balance, and they have psychic and physical effects which are able to stimulate the body with positive effects.
A team of "COLOR-ECOLOGIST OPERATORS" will be substituting in different strategic points of the city and of the suburbs, great amounts of trash bags with colored and biodegradable ones which are also scented and insect-repellent.
Our intention is to bring color, life and joy
VIDEO INSTALLATION:
A 2 screen Multi-Channel Video Installation to enter this world and a hidden mini-screen where the spectator will be able to see the behind the scenes and the reactions of the pedestrians.
Our corner will be the transformation from "Postcard of degrade" to one of hope.
The piles of trash in the video postcards shot in black and white of a sad and tired Naples will be painted in shocking.
